Q: What is LiftUr and what can I do with it?
A: LiftUr is a comprehensive strength training tracker that helps you build custom workouts, follow structured training plans, track your progress, and monitor personal records. All your data is stored locally on your device with encryption for privacy.
2. Getting Started
Q: How do I create my first workout?
A: Go to the Workouts tab and tap the "+" button. Give your workout a name, then add exercises from our library of 225+ exercises. For each exercise, set your target sets, reps, and weight. Save it, and you're ready to train!
3. Plans vs Cycles vs Workouts
Q: What's the difference between Workouts, Cycles, and Plans?
A:
- Workouts are individual training sessions (e.g., "Upper Body Day")
- Cycles are multi-week training blocks that schedule workouts across days/weeks (e.g., a 4-week strength block)
- Plans are complete training programs that combine multiple cycles (e.g., a 12-week periodized program)
- Start with workouts, then organize them into cycles or plans as you progress!
4. Tracking Progress
Q: How do I track my progress and see my personal records?
A: LiftUr automatically tracks your personal records (PRs) for each exercise. View your PRs on the Progress tab, where you can see charts for volume, strength gains, and workout frequency over time. You'll also get a celebration when you hit a new PR!
5. Rest Timer
Q: How does the rest timer work?
A: After completing a set, the rest timer automatically starts based on your settings. You can customize rest durations per exercise, add time if needed, or skip the timer entirely. Enable sound and vibration alerts in Settings so you know when rest is over.
6. Data Privacy
Q: Is my data private? Do you have access to my workout information?
A: Your privacy is our priority. All data is stored locally on your device with encryption - we never upload your workout data to external servers. Your fitness journey stays completely private.
7. Multiple Users
Q: Can multiple people use the app on the same device?
A: Yes! LiftUr supports multiple user profiles. Each person gets their own separate workout history, personal records, and goals. Switch between users from the Profile screen.
8. Goals
Q: How do I set and track fitness goals?
A: Go to the Goals tab and tap "+" to create a goal. Choose from workout frequency (e.g., 4x per week), strength targets (e.g., bench press 225 lbs), or bodyweight goals. LiftUr tracks your progress automatically and shows how close you are to achieving each goal.
9. Data Backup
Q: How do I backup or export my data?
A: Go to Profile → Export Data to create a backup of all your workout history, exercises, and settings. You can export as JSON, CSV, or encrypted backup. To restore, use the Import feature with your backup file.
10. Account & Data Deletion
Q: How do I delete my account and all my data?
A: Go to Profile → Delete Account. This will permanently remove all your data including workout history, personal records, custom exercises, and goals. This action cannot be undone, so make sure to export your data first if you want to keep a copy.
11. Offline Use
Q: Does LiftUr work offline?
A: Yes! LiftUr works 100% offline. All features are available without an internet connection since your data is stored locally on your device.
12. Custom Exercises
Q: Can I add my own exercises?
A: Absolutely! If an exercise isn't in our library, tap "Create Custom Exercise" when adding exercises to a workout. Specify the name, muscle groups, and equipment needed.
